The history of KAMAZ-Metallurgy Plc. began in 2001. On the 16th June a new public company management structure was approved by decision of the Board of Directors. It was based on a product orientation that intended for truck production, production of components and rough parts. The Rough Product Group comprised the Foundry as a parent enterprise and also the Forge Plant, Automatic Machining Plant and KAMAZ-Secondary Resources Ltd. Victor Faber was at the head of the Group. Establishing of the product groups was caused, first of all, by market demands. As a rule, the customers (in particular those from abroad) prefer to cooperate with an enterprise which is capable to provide as wide range of services as possible. Also, joining the efforts of different divisions could permit to reduce significantly the day-to-day operation costs as all plants of one group were oriented to the same suppliers and consumers. On the 13th October Mr. Khanafei Z. Garipov was appointed as manager of KAMAZ – Metallurgy Plc. to take the position of Mr. Faber died a tragic death. Since 25 April 2005, the duties of the General Director of KAMAZ-Metallurgy Plc were delegated to Mr. Vladimir I. Abramov. On the 3d of July, 2006 he has confirmed his appointment as a General Director. Today KAMAZ – Metallurgy Plc. is an association of two plants: the foundry and forge plant. Number of employees: over 9 000. KAMAZ-Metallurgy Plc. Mission Statement: KAMAZ-Metallurgy Plc. is a reliable manufacturer and supplier of castings and forgings for the motor construction and other branches of industry. Management improvement and motivation of personnel, expansion of sales market, work on product quality improvement, self-sufficiency with respect to technological materials, and reduction of lead time for foundry and forge tooling play the key role in accomplishing of the objectives. The Quality Systems of the plants are certificated to comply with the ISO-9001 and Russian GOST-P (standard) Quality Assurance specification. The availability of the Quality Certificate allows competing successfully with other Russian enterprises and improving the rating among Western customers. |
