FORGING

Print version

The Forge Plant is designed to manufacture by die work method the forged parts of trucks, light cars, power trains as well as vehicle spare parts for intracompany and intercompany cooperation; to provide spare parts for equipment, to supply its own die production and outside users with forged parts.

Complete technological cycle of forging production.

Method of production: die work.
Weight of forgings: 0.1 to 120 kg .
Dimensions:
Forgings, round cross-section: up to Ø350 mm
Forgings, complicated cross-section: up to 1800 mm long
Metal utilization factor: 0.84.
The production capacity of forgings is of 109,78 thousands ton a year.

Production capacity, max.: 308 000 tons,
where: 120 200 tons / year produced on the universal equipment and 67 400 tons / year are manufactured on specialized lines.

Any incoming materials arrive with Quality Certificates and are checked for conformity to the technical specifications and standards.

The metal is cut into billets on the automatic cutting lines equipped with FICEP shears having a cutting force of 160, 560, 1000 and 1600 tons. Both cold and hot cutting is provided which depends on a steel grade and diameter of rolled metal.

Metal for the hot-cutting process is preheated in gas-fired through-type heating units.

The forging process is performed on:

  • mechanized lines based on crank die forging presses (1000, 1600, 2500, 4000 and 6300 ton force) ;
  • automated lines based on horizontal forging machines ( 250, 500, 630, 800, 1250, 2000 and 3150 ton force) ;
  • automatic transfer lines with the following equipment built-in as basic units:
  • crank presses operated by 12, 000 ton wedge drive ;
  • 630 and 2000 ton horizontal forging machines.
  • HATEBUR 1200 t automatic forging machine ( Switzerland ).

HF preheating of metal to be forged is provided before forging operations.

Thermal refining (oil, water), isothermal annealing and normalizing of forgings is carried out in the through-type gas-fired heat-treatment furnaces in the heat treatment area.

In the finishing department the forgings are subject to cleaning from scale in the chamber-type batch-operated installations and, if required, to cold sizing and straightening.

All control operations in the forging production area are carried out on the basis of the documented procedures that regulate the process.

Main manufacturing operations are conducted with small allowances for machining. The equipment and technologies used at the plant permit to produce forgings for all sectors of the national economy.
