About
The history of KAMAZ-Metallurgy Plc. began in 2001. On the 16th June a new public company management structure was approved by decision of the Board of Directors. It was based on a product orientation that intended for truck production, production of components and rough parts. The Rough Product Group comprised the Foundry as a parent enterprise and also the Forge Plant, Automatic Machining Plant and KAMAZ-Secondary Resources Ltd.. Victor Faber was at the head of the Group.
Establishing of the product groups was called into being, first of all, by market demands. As a rule, the customers (in particular those from abroad) prefer to cooperate with an enterprise which is capable to provide as wide range of services as possible. Also, joining the efforts of different divisions could permit to reduce significantly the day-to-day operation costs as all plants of one group were oriented to the same suppliers and users.
In addition to the supply of components required for truck production, every established group was called on to bear full responsibility for development and diversification of production and to enter the market with its products. KAMAZ INC. Deputy General Director of Metallurgy, Victor V. Faber, headed KAMAZ – Metallurgy Plc..
